Fire could be the difference between life and death. It has the ability to heat the body, treat water, cook food, light an area, sterilize for first aid, and provide comfort and security. It cannot be underestimated.
Paradox of Fire: “The Greater the Need, The Harder to Achieve.”
Too often we think of fire as an object, and fail to understand the reaction that takes place. Fire is an event. When the elements of Fuel, Oxygen, and Heat are combined they create combustion which results in FIRE! The Fire Triangle.
Now that you have a simple understanding of fire, let us look at several different methods for starting a fire.
5 Ignition Methods to Starting Fire:
Friction/Compression – Ferro Rod / Fire Piston / Bow Drill / Hand Drill / Etc.
Solar – Magnifying Lens / Fresnel Lens / Eyeglasses
Percussion – Flint and Steel / Chert and Iron Ore
Electrical – Battery & Steel Wool / Electrical Current and Metal
Chemical – Potassium Permanganate & Glycerin / Brake Fluid & Bleach

Read Verses/Reflect: 1 Corinthians 3:13 declares that “Each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work.” Scripture refers to God a consuming fire, and it is through fire we are tested.
